Psychotherapy for Adults and Adolescents

in Seattle’s University Village Neighborhood

Welcome.

I provide psychotherapy to individuals aged 13yrs and up. I also offer clinical supervision to Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associates (LMHCAs) working toward licensure in Washington State and clinical consultation to early to mid-career therapists interested in enriching their work with clients. Learn more about my approach to therapy here.

Prior to my work as a therapist, I adventured in the arts—especially film and music production. I continue to be inspired by all forms of creative expression, and find the most creative and collaborative moments in therapy to also be the most transformative.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I am primarily offering sessions via telemedicine.

Psychotherapy with Adults

I work with adults throughout development with an emphasis on understanding, exploring and processing past events, linking past traumatic experience to current thoughts, feelings and sensation, and facilitating a restructuring of self-defeating narratives. I am interested in all of your experience—conscious and unconscious. We will work with dreams, fantasies, fears and hopes within a caring, respectful and sometimes challenging relationship.

Psychotherapy with Adolescents

My work with adolescents is informed by a deep appreciation for this profound and often turbulent period of development. This appreciation comes from years of study, and also draws on my own experience. Adolescents benefit from careful listening and a respect for the rapidly changing internal working models they construct to make sense of the world and to develop their unique place within it.

Clinical Consultation

I offer clinical supervision and consultation to LMHCA’s and therapists in early and mid-career. My focus is on your clinical experience, and the inevitable questions, doubts and difficulties developing and negotiating a therapeutic alliance with clients. Issues of frame and boundaries, identifying links and patterns, and especially recognition and use of counter-transference experience will be explored within our relationship as well as facilitated by readings from psychodynamic literature.
